A real ripoff
Don’t buy this garbage. It is not from the “Crick”. It is not from the “East Coast”. It is from Indonesia. Indonesia doesn’t have cricks. Indonesia is not on the East Coast. The can was stuffed with paper. The so called “crab meat” was pulverized. Looked like paste. Could barely taste it. These people are not honest. They need a long soak in the crick.

best jerky out there
I love this stuff. I have been consuming this jerky for years. I generally purchase it directly at the store in Jacksonville but have also had no problems ordering it via Amazon when I’m not in that area of the world.
Actual strips of beef, I don’t know what the other reviewer is referring to.
I believe it’s top round cut into strips. The traditional is my favorite with the cracked pepper being my second fav.
I have yet to have a better piece of jerky.
Mold present in each of last two separate orders
I actually enjoyed this product, and liked the taste, but at least one package of my last couple of orders had mold present. I contacted their customer service person who responded that this is a known issue. They call these packages “leakers” They thanked me for letting them know, but gave me no reassurance about future orders
I regrettably cannot recommend this product.
Horrid
This stuff was really bad - it is processed and extruded into links. The texture is too soft - more like a sausage stick (without the casing). It is greasy and has an odd after-taste. The package is not resealable, and the open package started growing mold after a few days. Save your money - Jack Links from your local 7-11 is MUCH better.

Healthy and Delicious
I’ve always prefered chunck light tuna to the higher priced solid white Albacore so when I saw this wild caught Tongol on a really great sale I bought two cases. I have not been dissapointed. The flavor is rich and fresh tasting and the texture is not at all soft or ‘fishy’. I also appreciate the fact that this kind of tuna is known to have the lowest levels of mercury since I tend to eat 3 or 4 cans a week. I’m on a fairly tight budget so I’m not sure I would buy it at full price, $2.00 a can is high for Tongol, but I am considering it, the tuna is that good.

Very tasty tuna. I don’t seem to have any issues with opening the cans either, perhaps the other reviewer got a bad batch. The batch I ordered in Dec. 08 is fine.

I just opened the second can and for the second time I had to get a pliers out of the tool box because the ring pull broke off before the can had barely begun to open. And a regular can opener doesn’t work either :-(((
I’m giving the cans a 1 (lowest rating)
and giving the tuna itself a generous 5, theres nothing wrong with it–its good. Averages out to three so I gave three stars.
But I am just sure that before I get thru the 22 remaining cans I am going to have a major cut on a hand or finger. And I’m unhappy about it.
I will definitely not be ordering this item again.
Here it is a few days later and I opened another can yesterday. I got it half open when the ring broke off. Had to resort to the pliers yet again.
Finally on the fifth can it opened without having to resort to the pliers.
Its much much more difficult than opening a tin of sardines. Any regular can opener would be much easier.

Light is all right with me!
I just tried this lite SPAM this morning for breakfast. Just sliced it up and browned it in a pan and it wasn’t bad at all! In fact, it wasn’t that “lite” to me, having never had orignal spam. It was more than meaty and greasy enough to get me out the door and to work and not think about food for many hours. Thanks SPAM lite!

What in the world can be said about Spam? Lite is best without so much grease. When camping on a mountain, I came up with this idea: I slice it, brown it in a skillet, and dump a can of baked beans on top of it and heat. Served with slaw and cornbread, makes a real “down home” and satisfying meal. Tasty and easy!
